Muskingum Valley Health Center (MVHC) had a very special guest at its third annual patient care charitable fundraising event at the Wilds on Thursday.
MVHC’s Patient Care Charitable Fund provides free screenings for cervical and colorectal cancer to all patients in Muskingum County. They also offer additional services, such as nutritional classes and exercise opportunities.
Jack Hanna, Celebrity Zookeeper was the guest speaker at Thursday night’s fundraising event.
“I’m very proud to say that the Columbus Zoo is involved with this entire situation tonight and I hope they raise a lot of money,” said Hanna.
Hanna said that he was happy to help out a local organization from a place that has created so many memories in his life.
“This is where I went to college at Muskingum. This is where I met my wife of 50 years now. I owe a lot to Muskingum. I’ve just been very blessed in Ohio.”
Members of MVHC said that Thursday nights event was by far the largest fundraiser they have ever had at the Wilds.
